Wow didn't know that. It sadly prevented me doing tags as tagged notes would be 'hidden'. Only illogical thing in an otherwise fantastically intuitive program.
Maybe a bit late to start with tags with over 2000 notes already, but might benefit the next guy.

Simply uncheck Clipping/After Clipping/Switch to Untagged View

Sorry to hear that! Well maybe this is the case where some autotagging rules could help? ;)
