Using tags to help with resolving conflicts

Erik Bangsund 13 років тому оновлено Christof Deininger 9 років тому 5
When I go to import a conflicted copy of the notebook file all I can see is how many notes were skipped because they were duplicates and how many were imported.
The suggestion is to automatically tag the newly imported notes, perhaps with Import-New. Then, if any notes have the same title but different contents, the original should be tagged Import-Original and the version from the conflicted notebook should be tagged Import-Conflict.
This way the user could filter for the new Notes to make sure they still need them. They could filter for the original and conflict copies and compare them.
All of this could be an optional setting that the user chooses, perhaps as a "resolve conflict" menu item.

Hi Erik,

sorry that I've overlooked this issue is the past. Is it still actual to you?

Actually we've improved import in version 2.0 so that CN can now recognize  and solve many types of conflicts.

Also now you can specify tags to add to imported notes in the Import dialog.

Could be it is fixed.  I will check next time I get conflicts.  Which may be soon.  I have been having a constant issue where neither of my CN on two computers are letting go of their db when the are idle.  This means that Dropbox can't sync them.  I have to quit out completly to release the db.  I have checked the settings files and they look fine.

So you're saying that you have notebook.disconnect.enabled = 1 and notebook.disconnect.timeout.seconds = 30?

Could you please check using Process Explorer if the file handle is indeed being held? Thanks!
