That 'click drag' selection box would be mighty handy for selecting multiple notes at once.

Thanks for the suggestion. There is also a strong demand for ability to select and copy text right in the note preview. But it obviously clashes with your idea. Do you see any way to solve this?
hmmm... tough. There are all kinds of things us users want the mouse to do, but between the filing and editing, heck, even most OSes don't seem to get that right. So my shot at it; how about a narrow vertical 'title bar' directly to the left of the notes(and tags). A blank 'flag' column on the left border. Actions in the flag column act as functions on the note as a file (Click and hold on an unselected item for drag box; click and hold on a selected item to drag selection; right click for NOTE context menu), actions in the note area acts as a text field (right click for TEXT context menu).

I don't know how the program was put together, so that might be a lot harder than it sounds, but a margin might still have merit. The area could also be used for highlighting notes forum style, with symbols and color coding or whatnot. Also, I'm recommending a separate column for this instead of the note titles, as there are times where a user might want to select text across several notes, titles, timestamp and all. No need to complicate that.

Anyway, the drag box isn't really an issue. Shift and Ctrl clicking is far more reliable. It is just that those old habits...
Wouldn't an additional bar used just for selection overcomplicate things a bit? If it really is narrow it would be difficult to hit it with the mouse. I think ctrl or shift clicking could be more user-friendly in this regard.
However I'm not dismissing your idea: actually such a "title sidebar" could be made not so narrow, and it could come in very handy for things like task checkmarks, alarms and other note flags. Actually it has been done so a long time ago in NotesHolder (and QuotePad), which in some way inspired CN.
You might notice that I suggested using the 'title column' not just for note selections, but for file functions (current note manager functions), plus color coding and flagging, and the current note column for text functions (like the often requested in note manager text editing and whatnot). Other than that, yes. NotesHolder almost perfectly displays what I had in mind.

You may also note that I pretty much disregarded this whole idea as unnecessary and mouse drag functions as unreliable in the final paragraph of my last response. Considering that this is all about a program called CintaNotes, I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that succinct writing is not my forte. I like words and language a bit too much. Pity not everyone feels the same.
