Actually I don't think this option is documented, so no need for self-punishment :)

There's also an option for that, albeit it is not accessible from the UI.
Edit the cintanotes.settings file (make sure you do this while CN is not running), and set app.mainframe.minimizeonenter to 1.

Well if Simplenote client doesn't work its hardly CintaNotes problem. We are already in the process of writing an Android app, but the work is going slowly because it currently has low priority.

That's easy: just activate Silent Clipping mode in Options/Clipping

Thanks a lot for the elaborate comment. I can understand your reasoning. However we need to prioritize, and now we do it with the help of people's votes. It is not perfect, but it is at least something that gives us the feeling of how demanded the feature really is. Currently this idea only has 3 upvotes, which is really low. So I suggest to return to this conversation once this idea gets to at least top 25. You're welcome to advertise this idea btw!
