Oh, ok - I think I understand what you mean now. Yes, that will probably do what I want. I have added my vote to the other wish.

Support. I just tried to clip a table from a webpage into CN, and the results weren't good at all - I had to delete the clipped text and just settle for a link to the original webpage instead.
Actually, 'only related' does not seem to affect the tag sidebar when 'all' is selected (I just don't want it to hide tags when 'all' is selected), so this may do. The option does change the colour of the tag sidebar for some unknown reason, but I can probably live with that, even though the colour it changes it to is really ugly (it is a muddy sort of blue colour).
Hm, that does do what I want - but then, the name of it indicates that it is always active, and thus, with 'all' selected, the only tags that would show would be tags with at least one entry, true? Ideally I don't want that part to change (ie when I have 'all' selected) - only what happens when I actually select a tag.
Yes, but I want to avoid having to use shortcut keys or click the dropdown, which is why I want the > character. If I am the only one to have asked for it, it is probably just easier to mention it in the helpfile and leave it at that. If anyone else is interested in it, they will find it.
At the moment, there are two icons in the search field. A magnifying glass and what I think is meant to be a tag. I would add a third icon, the > symbol and when it is clicked, have the dropdown say "full text search". At that point, the user should understand what it means, especially if the dropdown text has a tick next to it to indicate 'active' (or in the spirit of the dropdown when you click the tag icon, an orange highlight around it). Of course, it does require them to actually click the icon at least once, but they would not have to hunt through the help file for it.
That may do - I would really need to see a mock-up of it first though. At the moment, the tag that you have selected is itself highlighted, and it sounds like the other idea is simply to move that tag to the top of the tag list. I think that i. I would still have the same problem, and ii. The tag suddenly being out of alphabetical order would bug the hell out of me (I am very sensitive to visual disturbances).
Hm, that's an improvement, but it still isn't quite visible enough for me as the markers are the same colour as the tags and the notebook (ie blue). Instead of a colour system, what about removing all other tags that aren't related when you select a tag?
Added my vote. Clipping text with urls in it is something I do a lot of and manually inserting the urls into the clipped text takes a lot of time. This is my specific use case. I clip a lot of text from websites. Often, text from websites has a URL in it. When you clip the text, only the text is included - and URL's are discarded. That means to get all the contents of the original article, you have to right click the URL in your browser, copy the link, and then paste that into the note inside CN. It would be great if - when you clip text that has a URL in it - CN would include that URL (as a click-able link) in the note. Here is an example:
Test test test Google test.
When clipped, that text becomes:
Test test test Google test.
What I want is this:
Test test test Google http://www.google.com test.
So CN detects that 'Google' is a URL, and includes the URL after the word in the clipped text.

Great, thanks!
