It's annoying that the tag filter is reset when tag sidebar gets hidden on F5.

I still have a lot of notes in Notepad++ because (via plugin) it supports Elastic Tabstops. This feature automatically aligns all content in a table based on the textual length of each column. Separate tables in a single document/note can have different tabstop alignments, since each group is separated by two carriage returns. This provides a simple ability to align information into a pseudo-table structure. If you use Notepad++ and aren't using this plugin, you need it. It's awesome. Elastic Tabstops ensures that whether your tab setting is 4 spaces or 8 spaces or 30 spaces, columns align correctly when text is tabbed consistently.

Among other things, this feature would allow note content to be able to be easily and quickly copied to/from Excel without having to munge the number of tabs that are currently required to make text align correctly. Likewise, any other application that supports tab-separated content would work, too (Access, phpMyAdmin, SQL Server, Adminer, HTML tables, WordPress and many more). This would greatly improve application compatibility.

This is different from the Smart Tabs request since Smart Tabs inserts spaces (yuck!).

I believe this is different from the Quick table creation request because that appears to require special formatting (RTF or HTML) where Elastic Tabstops works on plain text in notes where formatting is stripped. When you strip formatting (CTRL+D) tabs remain tabs so the pseudo-table alignment is preserved.

A keyboard shortcut to assign a Special Tag like "Collection".
Target: Fast collecting of a bunch of notes, even from different searches, without risking a cramp in the Ctrl-Finger.

I'm using Shift+F6 to move notes into a section called "Collection", but it needs at least one extra keystroke per selection.

(Maybe another shortcut for emptying the collection - removing collector tags - would also be nice.)

Suggestion: The tag "Collection" could appear as a sticky tag in the not scrolling area of "All" and "Untagged".  If it can't, it should be renamable in order to determine the appearence in the tag list.

At least one shortcut to assign a tag would do the trick.

Expand only 1 Tag Group at a time.

(-> close previous group automatically when expanding another; as seen in Adobe Lightroom)

Would be great if CN could search inside of attached files, at least in most common document types - TXT, DOC, XLS, PDF.

CN should optionally create a subfolder with attached files and place links to them into HTML

It would be great to able, for example, to match on various dates in text to automatically assign tags.

Dragging of a group of selected notes to the tag label to tag them all at once.

Now CN doesn't look into link URLs that are part of note text. Sometimes it is necessary however.

I use CintaNotes to store a large collection of quotes. I usually create the notes by clipping from other sources, and a quote is typically a paragraph of text. The option to use "first line" as title is great, but in this case the whole paragraph becomes the title. This is a bit excessive, and becomes inconvenient in exported data.

Suggestion: add an option to limit the length of title taken from clipped text. Ideally to be specified as a number of words (default: 10 or so) rather than characters, to avoid cutting words in half.

I often hit Ctrl+Shift+Space and type a search term in for my multi-sectioned notebook. Note that I use the same colour for all my sections. I find that when CN returns the search results, I cannot easily tell which section each individual note is in. To do this, I have to double click each one and check the section dropdown in each note. What I'd like to have is CN show the section name in the note title bar, preferably the very right hand side so it doesn't conflict with the note title. That way, I could see at a glance what section a note belongs to.

Use case:

CintaNotes db file is on cloud storage. I use the same db from my PC, laptop, PC in work (unfortunately I cannot use from my Android phone). The same cloud storage is mapped to different directories on different machines, therefore the link as an absolute path works only on one system. If I could define the link as e.g.: ".\linked_files\TheBiggestDwarf.jpg" it would work on all systems.

 When partial copy of text from the note preview is available, I think it will also be useful to be able to expand the currently selected note so all text is available for fast partial copy.
