Tag picker control

Alex Jenter 14 years ago updated by Redwood 4 years ago 3
Even with autocomplete, entering tags requires the use of keyboard. Using a tag picker control, it would be possible to enter tags quickly into all tag input edit boxes using just the mouse.

Tag autocomplete should automatically add space at the end

Alex Jenter 14 years ago updated 13 years ago 0
I would like to see a space automatically added to the tags I choose from the "Tags:"-DropDown when I have a new Note
When a second tag is added it does not glue to the first one, and it makes the process of tagging more fluent.

Implement the "Help/Check for updates" command which would connect to the CintaNotes site, see if there is a new version of CintaNotes, and upon user confirmation, download and install it.

Drag & drop files to notes

Alex Jenter 13 years ago updated 7 years ago 5
I would like to drag and drop files to a note. Instead of the actual file I would like to get a clickable link to it. This way I can maintain lists of links without entering them manually (which is especially error-prone if I need to enter links using spaces or files hidden deep in the Windows folder structure).
A great additional option would be to distinguish between relative and absolute paths (via configuration setting).

Would be nice if we could go back and forth in the view history. Now if I look for something and then look for somethings else and want to go back, I need to re-create the filter from scratch.

Open multiple note windows

Alex Jenter 14 years ago updated 13 years ago 1
It should be possible to open multiple note windows at once. That means also that the main window should remain accessible when note editor window(s) is open, and they can be minimized and restored individually.

Highlight searched words in note's title in editor

Now when you open a note, searched words are highlighted. But not in the title.

add option "Search across field boundaries"

Thomas Lohrum 11 years ago updated by Alex Jenter 11 years ago 6

The search for "Anywhere" should be complemented by an option to search across field boundaries. This includes title, text, tags and link. That is a search for "word1 word2" should find all notes containing both words "anywhere" in the note, regardless of title, text, tags or link!

Autosave currently edited note

Alex Jenter 13 years ago updated 7 years ago 16
Currently the changes to the note are saved only when we close the edit dialog. But sometimes editor windows are open for a long time and in case of a system crash or power failure the changes will be lost. Having an autosaved version would be very nice. But it should be possible to dismiss all changes done since opening the note as well.

Search for date ranges

Alex Jenter 14 years ago updated 9 years ago 3
Implement the option to search for dates less than or greater than a given date - that way I can search for stuff that's been outstanding for ages - or even between 2 dates. This could possibly be invoked by using the = < and > symbols when searching so, for example to search for everything before 1st May, I'd type in <01/05/2009

Option to keep the current tag selection active after removing a tag from a note

ChrisCN 12 years ago updated by Alex Jenter 12 years ago 3
If I select the relevant tags to show a list of currently relevant notes and then want to exclude one of the notes (= delete one of its tag) the current behaviour is to set the tag selection to ALL.

Example: I want to show a list of "personal" "tasks" and get rid of the tasks without deleting the notes. But after I delete the tag "tasks" I 'loose' my personal task list (because now I see ALL notes again).
I have to reselect the tags 'tasks' and 'personal' to get my list back.

What I suggest is an option to keep the current tag selection also after removing a tag from one of its notes.

Clip text into currently edited note

Alex Jenter 13 years ago updated 8 years ago 6
Ctl-F12 pastes selected text into a new note. When I am editing a note, however, there are times I want the selected text pasted into the note I'm editing, rather than into a new note. It would be helpful if Ctl-F12 had an option to direct selected text either into a new note or into the currently open note. If a note is not being edited, then Ctl-F12 would work as it does now. Pinning favorite tags to the top (like in Win7 taskbar)

Alex Jenter 13 years ago updated 12 years ago 2
Some tags are used much more often than others. Having the ability to move them from common tag list to the top place just under the All and Untagged labels, where they would be fixed and not disturbed by scrolling, would greatly enhance usability. This can be done with the right mouse button menu option, like in Windows 7 taskbar.

Capability to insert and copy/paste simple tables and/or "columnize" text in a tabular format

Novan Leon 11 years ago updated by Alex Jenter 9 years ago 7

I frequently wish to display small chunks of data in a tabular format in CintaNotes. I often copy/paste small tables of data (3-4 columns) from emails, websites, etc. into CintaNotes but this always results in a loss of formatting, forcing me to manually format the data.

I would love to see the additional of either (1) the addition of simple HTML or RTF table support into CintaNotes, including the ability to copy/paste tables from other sources, OR (2) a feature that automatically aligns simple text into a tabular format using tabs and spaces instead of tables whenever a table is copied from another source.

This would greatly improve the utility of CintaNotes for people like myself who find themselves wanting to frequently access tabular data.
