I just printed two notes - one containing text with highlighted parts.
I printed on a color printer BUT the highlighted text got printed italic!?

Since 1.4 it is possible via adding the "tagsedit.autocomplete.acceptonspace = 1" parameter to the cintanotes.settings file.

Modified date label not updated after save (1.5.5)

In CN 1.5.5, if I open note editor, change it and press Ctrl+S, the label "Note saved" flashes at bottom, but modified date/time label is not updated until I reopen the note. I suggest to update it right after save.

when scrolling a note by mouse wheel to the bottom of the note, it display some additional empty lines. (when scrolling text by keys it doesn't happening)

Cursor in Search Box by Default

I think it would be nice if the cursor was in the search box by default. So when I call up with keyboard shortcut, I can immediately start to type my search without jumping to mouse to click in the search box. This would save time.

When you have bullets (not a numbered list) it takes Ctrl+L twice to remove the bullets. Add a single shortcut to remove bullets, respectively stop bulleting. I suggest "Ctrl+Shift+L" as a shortcut.

Error importing .db file from 1.5.3 into 1.5.5

Reproduce (use two portable installations):
1. Create a new database in CN 1.5.3
2. Save one note with any content (I used "note" title, empty body)
3. Close CN
4. Start clean CN 1.5.5
5. File > Import > select .db from 1.5.3
6. Get error message:

If I simply copy that .db into CN 1.5.5 directory, it works.

Resizing bug when CN is configured to start maximized

Resizing to full screen with tools like Winsplit Revolution or launching Cintanotes with the option maximize generate a screen bug (The scroll bar stay at the "small window" position.)

Editor window opens on wrong monitor in a multi-monitor system

I want to open the note window on the monitor I have the CintaNotes program displayed. this is handy on a two monitor system where I use the big display for reading and browsing and the second monitor for status displays, note taking, explorer display etc. This way I wont always have to shift the newly opened note window to the second monitor.

Allow an asterisk followed by a space to create a bullet list, that is "* ". This corresponds to the creation of numbered lists, when i have to press "1. " only, to create the list. This comes in more handy, than pressing Ctrl+L.

If I copy text from a note (Ctrl+C) into MS-Word 2007 or Outlook it gets an ugly yellow background. If I Ctrl+Shift+C the formatting gets lost.

When I search for "-a" to display all notes without words starting with "a", I get the error:

Improve management of multiple editor windows

With 1.4 each edit window has it's own entry in the windows taskbar. This can be confusing when searching for a specific window.
One way to improve would be to introduce a special window-list that can be summoned on a hotkey.
Or else the main CN window can be extended to accommodate overview of currently open editor windows.

One note can be opened multiple times for editing!
This is sometimes good and sometimes bad.
Good for browsing and reading, bad if different edits/changes are made in two windows.

Can you add optional, user configurable features:

1. Warn me when opening same note multiple times (just warning, alert)
2. Disable opening notes multiple times (just focus on opened edit window)

Both options will cover all possible edit/open combinations.

I guess this is related with latest enhancement "Sections: Sort and search parameters of each section of each opened notebook are now remembered".


I think it actually gets saved because I have this in .settings:


viewstate.notebook[2643a8c0-84f3-420b-8f0f-37940d89e402].section[0].sorting = modified


If I take .exe from CN 2.0.1, sort order saves again, but uses view.sortby setting instead.

Section titles not displaying full titles (Add hint)

Currently, if a section title is too long, it is cut short in the main Cintanotes window. This makes it hard to identify titles that begin the same way, but end differently.

It would be nice if when you mouseover a section tab, the full name appears in a hint pop-up.

A "section sidebar", similar to the tag sidebar would also be nice to have.

Здравствуйте.

При  редактировании заметки, текст которой был задан моноширинным, система устанавливает ей стандартный шрифт.

Но стоит перейти в другое поле или перейти в друге окно текст становится моноширинным.


ОС: Windows XP SP3 + все актуальные обновления.

CintaNotes ver.: 1.7.1.

The advantage of multiple main windows would be, that one could see and work with more than one note list at the same time.
In one main window I could have a look at my tasks on a second main window I could see the list of subject specific informations and so on.
