More than one word tags

Marat Levit 15 years ago updated by Alex Jenter 8 years ago 19
Tags are really useful but only allowing tags to be one word makes it sometimes a bit more annoying to use.

Posterous has probably the best tag system I've seen where tags are typed in, a list is displayed of matched and if no matches are found a new tag is created... but the tag can be multiple words e.g. 'Cinta Notes'

If I enter that into CintaNotes then I get two tags, one for cinta and one for notes which means I have to select both of those tags to get that one exact message that contains both tags.

A detailed description of the tag system design and a workaround for multi-term tags can be found here:

Todo lists inside notes

Roger 15 years ago updated by Cassandra D. Everhart 5 years ago 28
It would be nice to be able to make todo lists within notes (like in MS OneNote).

I imagine this could be done by using a button to add checkboxes, or even better, automatically generates after writing some text preceded by a dash or by the word "todo" and having either the dash or the "todo" swapped with a checkbox.

Recognize tags in note's text and make clickable

Alex Jenter 15 years ago updated by Cassandra D. Everhart 5 years ago 3
CN should provide a way to insert links to tags into note's text. Clicking on such link would be equal to clicking on this tag in the tag sidebar.
The simplest implementation would simply look for literal tags, but if this is not feasible, some special markup like [tagname] could be used.

CintaNotes should record at what PC the note was taken and provide the ability to limit search to this PC.
