Consider the fact, that there might be a difference, between manually saving a note inside the note editor once and a while, whereas closing the note editor window. The option could be off/sync-after-editor-close/sync-after-any-change.
Hmmm - have you thought that editing the modification date using the property dialog would mess up syncing? ;) Maybe CN should have a last sync date? Could be an interval field. Anyway i accept that conflict and still ask for the request. I sort for modification date. I don't want notes to move to the top, just because some minor tweaks like correcting a spelling error.
Rather than manual.db the filename should be made of a timestamp, e.g. yyyy-mm-dd_hh-mm-ss. The manual backup would help while testing CN functionality.

could you please comment on why you have downvoted my suggestion? Thank you. I suggested the enhancement as optional, so it shouldn't be in your way, if you don't like it. Btw, Outlook does use the same feature and i really like it.

You can already accept tags using the space bar; see options\tags\accept suggestions on\[X] spacebar.
sorry to hear you're disappointed. I can not share your feelings though. It's almost impossible to meet everyones expectation. Thus it is easy to disappoint the one or the other. What Alex has reached with this piece of software is astonishing. He is working hard on this for several years now. I am willing to pay for the license without hesitation. I can spend the same money for one evening going to the movies, enjoying one night. CN offers me an immense value everyday. Still, even with the free version there is so much functionality, without the need to pay.
Imo the link-implementation is well done. It is easy to use. It's not in my way, e.g. cluttering the UI. It's just there when i need it. It's performing well also. It fits what users like most about CN. Its clean design, its ease of use and fast response in all regards.

I suggest to also add Ctrl+Shift+L to turn the list off.

It could be an option, that can be turned off in the settings file.
